Gatlinburg Revisited!

After a leisurely breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, and orange juice, we got ourselves all spiffed up and went back downtown. I wouldn't have thought I'd missed anything, but apparently, I did. I also wanted to go back and by some chair cushions I'd seen on Monday and I got some jerky for Budley.

After tromping around downtown Gatlinburg for three hours or so, we met for lunch at Bubba Gump's Shrimp Company.

Our waiter was Shane, who was a good sport and a lot of fun. He didn't pose for a picture with Willy, but he did read my business card, and he brought Willy a fork and a shirt. I was holding Willy while Shane was trying to put the shirt on, and he asked me to get Willy to "let go of his package." My response was, "He can't." So we gave up on the shirt.

I ordered Lt. Dan's Drunken Shrimp for lunch, which was delicious!

For once in my life, I had room for dessert, so we ordered a Mud Pie and four spoons. It was HUGE!!!! No way one person could eat all of it, and the four of us had a little trouble.

We wound up finishing it, but this was the point at which I put down my spoon.

After lunch, Terri insisted on taking a picture of me and Shane, who was nice enough to pose with me. *wicked grin* He smelled nice, too!

Then we did some more shopping at the Tanger outlet mall. Willy stayed in the truck with the model on the brochure, who was very appreciative of his assets. Terri bought a ton of shirts, and I bought two to add to my wardrobe for the RWA National conference. I've worn the same outfit to the Rita Awards for the past two years, just getting a different top to go with it. This one is red with sequins. The Cat Master is getting downright racy in her old age!

It was getting dark when we headed back to the hotel. Willy wanted to go out barhopping, but we were all tired, so we went back to the hotel for tequila and pizza.

It's supposed to rain all day tomorrow, so who knows what we'll wind up doing. I want to go to the Lodge outlet to get a medium-sized iron skillet, but who knows what else we'll come back with. It's frightening to see what four women will buy when they've got a truck that was only half full on the trip down. One of these days, we might actually take a drive through the mountains. . .

In Sextet news, I sent my Entanglements story to the Sextet loop for critique, and Elizabeth and Mellanie seemed to like the changes I'd made to it since our get together on Saturday. It's still looking like the first anthology will be out in May. Can't wait!

Because you Yah-Yahs need a real, live hunk to ogle, I must take a dip into my Unused Hunk file and find something suitable. . . Ah, here we go. . .

Since Angela is wanting to get a tattoo, so here's a nice hunk with a tat or two for your enjoyment!

Tattooed Monday Moons!

Whew! What a weekend! After shopping all day Saturday, I spent the evening catching up on emails and cleaning up that mess in the kitchen that I blogged about on Wickedly Romantic. Budley gave me a hand, but it was still challenge.

Sunday I worked on cleaning off the kitchen counter. I have a huge kitchen with all kinds of counter space, but you know how it is, that space is like a magnet for things you don't know what else to do with. Some of the things I threw away had to have been twenty years old. You know the kind of thing I mean: owner's manuals for appliances that no longer exist, recipe clippings that may have looked good at one time, but now I'm wondering, WTF???

Of course, back in the days when my diet was less of a concern and I made bread and pies and cookies and cobblers and jam all the time, I collected lots of recipes. I could probably pitch everything but a select few cookbooks and never miss them. Most of them are just there to collect dust and help the others stand up!

I get most of my new recipes from the internet nowadays, and I print them up and put them in a binder (which is almost full) but there are a good many of them that I've never actually used. I keep collecting them, though, and I did find the one for fudge made with Velveeta, which I will post tomorrow.

This is totally off the subject, but the Cat Master must be getting gutsier. When I asked Lance, the manager at Borders, what I needed to do besides show up for the signing in January, his response was: Self Promote. He even suggested that I contact a reporter from the local newspaper about an interview.

Now, we've been through all of this and you know how hard it is for me, but as I write this blog, I have just sent that email. I probably sounded really stupid, because I wasn't sure which reporter to send it to, and neither was Lance. I even looked at the website to discover the correct person, and though I came away unenlightened, I did get an email address, so at least I don't have to sound stupid on the phone. Fingers crossed that I sent it to the right guy.

Too bad it isn't today's hunk. Now, that would be an interview worth blogging about! Pinch him, Ana. We need to know if those buns are real.

Sunday's Tattooed Hunk!

No, I haven't forgotten Raphael. He's still my favorite, even after Derrick and Justin and all the rest.

And of course we all still love Benji. . . .

But then, there is Marco Dapper. OMG!!!!!

As always, I'm blogging on Wickedly Romantic today. There's another tattooed hunk there for your enjoyment, so come on over!

Tattooed Whopping Weasel Wednesday!

We've seen this guy from a couple of different angles, and I think you'll recognize the starburst tattoo below his belly button. I chose him for Wednesday for obvious reasons!

And here's another nice tattoo for those of you who prefer the rear view.

Enjoy your Hump Day!
